WTF Catskill

When Catskill Cryo was trying to break ground and land on Main Street, just in front of the pandemic, there was backlash. A black man whose last name was White posted on FaceBook something about white elites moving in. Mr. White had 250 followers. Vinny (the mayor?) with thousands of followers, reposted, reprimanding Mr. White for his post.

Vinny’s repost reached at least 2000 people. It lasted two days. The social media spasm wasn’t on my radar, until Vinny pointed it out. I was devasted. The mayor said, “This is good. Hang in there. You’ll see.” He was talking about attention, because that was his mind set… on cocaine and cockiness… all attention is good.

His repost caused 300+ people to argue about me personally, and my business for 2 days, way before my business was even close to opening.

It wasn’t fair. Catskill Cryo had done nothing to deserve political espionage.

Six years later, I post pictures of construction on Main Street. I say it’s a bummer for business. And, we get hit with … entitled, ignorant of the work that goes into fixing the big problems, spoiled elites don’t know how to work.

Seems the biggest problem in Catskill is bigger than the water main issue.

Just saying… any construction in front of a storefront on any Main Street is a bummer for business.  It’s just a fact.
